Cadbury chaos – part 1

One down, three to go.

What am I talking about?

Kiddiewinkles birthdays, that’s what I’m talking about.

Last Sunday it was Isobelle’s birthday.

I know, it was Mother’s Day too, BONUS!

So, two weeks prior to this we had a strategic meeting in the Nation household.

Me, Mat and Isobelle to try and plan where to go.

Now, when I say strategic, that’s the bit where me and Mat STRATEGICALLY talked her out of doing silly things like ice skating.

So, we finally came to the joint decision of Cadbury World.

Not that it took much convincing.

Why wouldn’t you want to go to the HOME OF CHOCOLATE, mmmmmmmmm?

So off we trek, I think that the kids were even more excited than Mat (and that’s saying something).

He does love Cadbury’s chocolate bless him.

We arrive on time (of course) and join the small queue to enter.

Then they hit us with a stroke of absolute genius!

Me and Mat looked at each other and laughed.

Want to know what it is?

Well, when we gave the lady on the till our ticket.

She’s asked us if we wanted some FREE chocolates.

Well, we’re not going to say no are we ?

“How many of you are there?” She says.

“Seven” say I.

So, they give us 14 chocolate bars, that’s right, 14.

I look at Mat, he looks at me.

“Have you got a bag?” asked Mat.

“Nope” I replied.

“Do you want a bag?” said the lady on the till “they’re only £2.”

That’s the one, the stroke of genius.

Obviously, I’m not going to carry 14 chocolate bars round.

And I’m obviously not going to give the kids two each.

So of course, we buy the bag.

So, let’s break this down.

They give us chocolate – BIG WIN FOR US!

They know by giving us chocolate we think they are ace – WIN FOR THEM!

The goodies they give us (the chocolate) must have cost them pence to produce – WIN FOR THEM!

Then we buy a bag, obviously printed with the Cadbury logo and booking telephone number on it.

So, they make wonga from that transaction – WIN FOR THEM!

I told you it was brilliant didn’t I?

Giving stuff away works.

If Cadbury’s are doing it, why wouldn’t you do it?

It’s a surefire way of getting remembered.

But that’s not all that went on.

Mat’s on a mission.

He needs to get in touch with the marketing head honcho of Cadbury World.

So, if you know who they are, a referral would be amazing.

Right I’m off to the offy.

I’ve got eight girls having a sleepover tonight so I’m going to need at least a gallon of wine.
