Buy cheap, buy twice

Last weekend we reached another milestone in the Nation household

We said farewell to a pushchair we have had for over 10 years!!

It was like one of the family

It was the first and only pushchair we ever needed

All 4 children have been rocked to sleep in it

They have all been rescued when their little legs are “too tired to walk mommy”

It even had a second seat for other little ones

We got so much use out of it, especially with having 4 children with an average of 18 months age gap between each of them

It was easy to manoeuvre, even round shops and was a dream to push on the beach (unlike most pushchairs)

It even doubled up as a beach toy/lunch/spare clothes carrier

It was ace

Now when we chose our pushchair we looked at all sorts and thankfully I had some handy advice from my sister in law who already had 2 children

She said “if there is any chance of you having another child consider a Phil and Teds. They aren’t cheap but so worth the money”

We bought a Phil and Teds when we had Isobelle and just 10 months later found ourselves looking for the double kit for it as we were expecting another baby

Like I said above, we have had this pushchair for over 10 years now, it has been used with 4 children and still had a lot of life left in it

So at the weekend we stood at the door and waved goodbye to it

It felt like we were saying farewell to one of the family

I can’t bring myself to delete the pictures I took of it

I know, I know, it’s just a pushchair but this signifies our youngest is growing up

However, knowing someone else can now use this with their children makes me feel better about it

It got me thinking about something someone once said to me and it is so true:

‘Buy cheap, buy twice’
